Perplexed, you may be
Beauty you may not see
But as they say, she lies in the eye of the beholder
And yet I say the eyes often lie
Unintentionally perhaps because they can't really see
Beyond the epidermis
Beneath the hair follicles
Into the core of a human's being
Yet I see someone like you, me
Psalm 139:14
Made wonderfully
I see.
The eye often betrays the truth
Revealing the real 'I'
As the eye is a lamp
Providing light for the body
And so I, daily behold the One who died
Only to live again
The One I dub 'Saviour'
The One who is I AM
Knowing that if the eye is sound
The entire body will be full of light.
